![]() I just don't get the argument that it's distracting? Films have dialogue and soundtracks, don't take away from the scenes at all. I totally get being thrown off by the music, but it's usually pretty low in the mix, and the sfx compliment the pacing of the magic in combat extremely well, you really get pulled into it. Let alone the entire cast of SA, obviously having a full cast will be Infinitely better.įirst of the sun is like the only one where it could be told as a story by one person, but GA adds so much ambiance to Patji and the creatures ![]() Hearing one guy voice vin and elends relationship, or the entire crew planning the heist They are the anime to the books manga for now, and regular audiobooks is just seeing manga panels in motion haha, it's so limited. Kaladin, Dalinar, Vin, Lopen, Wayne, Sazed, that IS them so perfectly to me, especially since it's the closest we've ever had to adaptations of the cosmere. I remember when i first heard the way of kings prologue.the music when the heralds leave gets me every time. ![]() I mean the emotion and weight of the scenes is complimented so much Tress and dawnshard were awesome but i felt like they were really limited by being just regular audiobooks haha, it seems silly to me to not have at the bare minimum two actors to voice each genderĪll the most epic moments of the series the GA is the definitive version for me I have the exact opposite experience hahaĪfter having Mistborn/SA with the full cast and music.going back to one dude doing everyone's voice even the women just seems extremely limited, janky and hollow Please let me know of your experience with the graphic audio adaptations, especially of cosmere books. Is it just Elantris that's this distracting? Are they all like this and I just need to get used to it? If that's the case, I'm probably better off just listening to the audio books. I know Elantris is an early work, but I've read it before and it wasn't this bad for me last time. I'm about 2/3rds of the way through it and I don't feel entrenched in it at all. I had been meaning to reread Elantris after TotES as it had been a while, but I feel like I'm not really getting much from it. I can hardly focus on the dialogue because there are either people yelling in the background, or the noise of carriages or just swells in music to heighten intrigue at seemingly random moments. I'm not sure if the sound levels are just not mixed right, but the background noises seem to be far too loud. But the graphic audio books for Elantris are so distracting. I have been listening to audio books for about 6-7 years now and have listened to the entire cosmere at least once, so I'm by no means new to the medium itself. I grabbed the Elantris graphic audio versions on audible when they were made free a few days ago as I had been meaning to give this format a try.
